About The Donut Man
Located at 317 S Broadway A-1, Los Angeles, CA 90013, The Donut Man operates as a donut shop serving Los Angeles in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8 amβ9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file. Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Traffic in Los Angeles peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. The GCM location pales in comparison to the OG spot in Glendora. Also, can't believe how crazy expensive the fresh fruit (peach or strawberry) donuts are now. $7.50 per donut is crazy! The other donuts fortunately are not as expensive. Yes the fresh fruit is incredibly good but I can only justify it for a "one-and-done" now. The tiger tails are probably my fave for the non-fresh fruit donuts. Also, expect to be kinda rushed as they're not the friendliest (definitely not like Jim Nakano or his wife who are absolutely great but I think you have to go the Glendora location and I don't even know if they come out to the store any more). You kinda have to know what you want before you step in line. And the lines can get long here because people want to try the famous The Donut Man donuts. Having lived in Glendora and been accustomed to the OG location and owners, this does color my judgment. But again, worth trying if you never have. And I'd you can, try the original location. The attached photo shows one whole tiger tail, and a half of the apple (not fresh fruit - I think it's canned apple pie filling but it's delicious), fresh peach (quarter donut) and fresh strawberry (quarter donut)

The Donut Man absolutely lives up to its reputation. I tried both the fresh strawberry and fresh peach donuts, and they were excellent. The fruit was incredibly fresh, juicy, and generously packed into each donutβnot just a few pieces on top. The glaze complemented the fruit without being overly sweet, and the donut itself was light, soft, and pillowy. If youβre visiting during strawberry or peach season, these are a must-try.

DONUT HOLE-IN-THE-WALL! The Donut Man is a legend within Grand Central Market. Itβs known for its rich flavors, vegan offerings, and speedy service. I stopped by for a quick dessert and picked up a chocolate donut with chocolate sprinkles. Iβm still in love with this place, itβs stood the test of time. I can verify that the donuts are just as good as when I had them as a kid. I scanned the racks through their little observation windows, selected a bite and was quickly at checkout. I popped in on a Wednesday night and there was NO line. The dude at the counter was a little exhausted, but he was calm. Iβve had good experiences here. I want to try their coffee next time, all these years and itβs still on my to-do list!

1. The strawberry donut was delicious and flavorful! It was not too sweet! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes since it is part of a market! 3. The staff was friendly and timely with my order! It was ready in 5 mins! Note: There is a restroom area in the basement area! Stairs leading down are near the marketβs info desk! Photo: Fresh Strawberry Donut

These donuts were amazing! I'm not a donut person and I almost didnt come because I was worried that it'd be overhyped. But after some reddit reading and persuasion from my bf, I bought a box of donuts. Quite expensive for donuts personally, but it was totally worth it!! The donuts are so fluffy. The texture is insanely good. The ones with filling are stuffed to the brim. So worth the cost! And the calories! Tried french cruller, glazed, chocolate glazed, raspberry filled, boston cream filled, peanut butter and jelly filled, along with cinnamon sugar. All of them were so amazing and they tasted so fresh!
